At Veterans AC & Heat in Tarpon Springs, we are deeply committed to supporting our servicemen and women.
This commitment is woven into every part of our business, and it’s our privilege to work with and train veterans who have served our country.
Also, each team member brings a unique story of service and a wealth of experience that brings value to our company and the quality of service we provide to our community.
So, on this Veteran’s Day, we’re honored to highlight the veterans on our team: Rob, Will, Xavier, and Michael.
Rob – HVAC Technician and Former Airborne Infantryman
Rob served in the Army as an airborne infantryman, holding several positions over his six years of active service and two years in the reserves. As a result, he gained experience in the airborne infantry that required intense training, discipline, and teamwork — skills that translate naturally into the HVAC field.
At Veterans AC & Heat, Rob brings his technical abilities, keen attention to detail, and positive attitude to every project. In addition, his military background has instilled in him a commitment to high standards, reliability, and the importance of working together as a team — values that benefit our clients and the entire company.
Will – HVAC Technician and Field Artillery Specialist
Will dedicated six years to the Army as a Field Artillery Specialist (MOS 13B). During his service, he worked with 155 mm howitzers and was deployed to Afghanistan from 2018 to 2019.
The precision required in field artillery aligns well with the HVAC industry, where accuracy and skill ensure that each system operates efficiently. Similarly, Will’s dedication to his trade, sharpened by his experience in the field, is evident in the care he takes with each job he does.
At Veterans AC & Heat, he applies the same focus and determination he showed in Afghanistan. As a result, our clients receive outstanding service.
Xavier – HVAC Installer and Former Human Resources Specialist
Xavier spent three years in the Army as a Human Resources Specialist, bringing an understanding of team dynamics and interpersonal skills that have been invaluable in his role as an HVAC installer.
Xavier’s experience in human resources taught him the importance of communication, a skill he applies daily when working with clients and team members. His approachability and dedication to learning new skills have made him a standout team member. He is deeply committed to serving our community.
Michael – Install Manager and Army National Guard Sergeant
Michael, our Install Manager, served eight years in the Army National Guard. There, he rose to the rank of Sergeant and completed two combat deployments to Iraq. He was the first veteran hired by our founder, Roy. Michael has played a crucial role in shaping our company since its beginning.
His leadership skills, developed through years of service, make him an exceptional manager who leads by example and inspires those around him. Michael’s commitment to excellence and supporting his fellow veterans makes him invaluable to Veterans AC & Heat.
Building Careers for Veterans: A Path to Success in HVAC
At Veterans AC & Heat, our mission goes beyond providing heating and cooling solutions. Each year, we strive to hire at least one veteran. We believe that the discipline, integrity, and resilience of military service members align well with the demands of our industry.
Most of our veterans come to us with minimal HVAC experience, which is no barrier to joining our team. In fact, our training program builds skills from the ground up. It covers HVAC basics through advanced techniques, preparing veterans for certification and a successful career in the field. We’re proud to support their growth, whether they:
- Stay with us long-term
- Start their own companies
- Join larger HVAC firms
Since our first veteran hire, Michael, we’ve hired and trained seven other veterans. Each new hire has become an essential part of our team and contributed to our company’s growth. Additionally, our commitment to hiring veterans is a way to give back to those who have served. We’re proud to offer them a stable career path and the support they need to build their future.
Veterans Day: Giving Back to Our Community
Each Veterans Day, we’re proud to celebrate our veteran employees and the veterans in our community. As part of this celebration, we use our HVAC system giveaway program to demonstrate our gratitude.
Every year, we provide a complete HVAC system free of charge to a veteran in need. Over the year, we identify deserving veterans who may be struggling with outdated or malfunctioning systems. Then, we provide them with the comfort and efficiency they deserve.
This year, we’re giving away two HVAC systems. One will be for a veteran we’ve chosen and another for a veteran nominated by our community. We welcome nominations from the community and believe this is a powerful way to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those who served.
For us, this annual event is more than just a giveaway—it’s an opportunity to honor and support those who have served our nation.
Why Hiring Veterans Matters to Us
Our focus on hiring veterans isn’t just about filling positions; It’s about creating a culture of respect, commitment, and integrity. Veterans bring unique skills, experiences, and a sense of duty that elevates the quality of service we provide.
Our clients benefit from the high standards our veteran team members bring. Our team also benefits from the camaraderie and discipline that veterans embody. At Veterans AC & Heat, team members are valued, and veterans shape our company’s identity and success.
Our dedication to veterans is rooted in a deep appreciation for their service, and we welcome new veterans to our team. We believe that providing training, career growth, and a supportive environment is the least we can do to give back to those who have sacrificed so much.
Join Us in Honoring Our Heroes
As we celebrate Veterans Day, we invite our community to join us in honoring the incredible contributions of our veteran team members: Rob, Will, Xavier, and Michael. Their stories of courage and resilience are a testament to the strength and dedication of our nation’s service members, and we are honored to have them as part of our family at Veterans AC & Heat.
This Veterans Day, let’s take a moment to remember the sacrifices our veterans have made, both at home and abroad. As we look forward, we remain committed to hiring and supporting veterans as they build rewarding careers in HVAC.
If you’re a veteran interested in joining our team, stop by our Tarpon Springs location and learn more about what we do. No experience is necessary— just a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn.
Thank you to all veterans for your service and sacrifice. We look forward to continuing our mission to serve those who have served us, one veteran at a time.
